HPV positive cervical cancer cell lines; SiHa and HeLa were purchased from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC, USA) and HPV negative cervical cancer cell line; C33A and human kidney cell line HEK293T were purchased from the National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS, Pune, India). Unless mentioned, the cells were grown in Dulbecco’s Eagle Modified Medium (DMEM, Gibco, USA) supplemented with 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS, Gibco, Brazil) and 1% Pen-Strep (Penicillin-Streptomycin, Gibco, USA). The cells were cultured at 37 °C, with 95% humidity and 5% CO2.
