NTHi cells were grown in sBHI to an optical density at 600 nm (OD600) of 1.0. Three milliliters of cells at an OD600 of 1.0 was resuspended in PBS, mixed thoroughly, and then split into triplicate cuvettes per variant. Samples were monitored for 4 h by measuring OD600. Values were expressed as percentages of the initial reading.
