The determination of the total soluble sugar contents was according to the methods of Zheng et al. (2016), 0.3 g frozen seedling samples of each treatment were ground and mixed with 50 ml distilled water. Then the mixture was filtered using Whatman No. 42 filter paper. The total soluble sugar contents in rice seedlings were evaluated by the phenol sulfuric method (Dubois et al. 1956).
