TCID50 assays to determine viral titers were performed as described previously [36]. Briefly, MARC-145 cells were seeded in 96-well plates and then infected with serial 10-fold dilutions of supernatants in eight replicates. The plates were incubated for 72–96 h before virus titers were calculated. PRRSV titers are shown as the TCID50 per milliliter, calculated using the Reed–Muench method [37].
