Animals

For calcium imaging experiments we used PV-2PA-Cre/flex-tdTomato mice (n=5, Jackson Stock #008069 crossed with #007908) for selective labeling of PV cells with a red fluorescent protein tdTomato. For behavioral experiments, we used C57Bl/6J mice (n=15; 5 in each group with different conditioning current amplitude). Young adult mice (6–12 weeks) of both sexes were used. The animals were provided with food and water ad libitum and housed on 12 h dark/light cycle. All procedures were approved by Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Institute of Experimental Medicine, Czech Academy of Sciences. The procedures were carried out in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
