To calculate BMI, prepregnancy weight (kg) was divided by the squared height (m2). Prepregnancy BMI was categorized according to the WHO standard [10]: women were underweight (BMI < 18.5 kg/m2), normal (18.5–25 kg/m2), overweight (25–30 kg/m2), obese ≥30 kg/m2), obese grade 1 (30–35 kg/m2), obese grade 2 (35–40 kg/m2), or obese grade 3 (≥40 kg/m2).
