Water temperature, salinity, PH, and dissolved oxygen were measured in the field using a Sea-Bird SBE 37 CTD (Sea-Bird Scientific, Bellevue, WA, USA) and a smart portable multiparameter water quality analyzer (YSI 6600; Xylem Analytics, Rye Brook, NY, USA). Water transparency, ammonium nitrogen (NH4+-N), nitrate nitrogen (NO3−-N), nitrite nitrogen (NO2−-N), total nitrogen, and total phosphorus were determined following standard methods [17].
