The Medaka TILLING library was previously prepared, and contains 5,760 mutant medaka strains induced by ethylnitrosourea (ENU)23. Mutations were identified by high-resolution melting curve analysis (HRM analysis) at the National Institute for Basic Biology, as described previously24. Exon 6 to exon 7 of the medaka CSS gene was amplified using the following primers: 5’-AGGTTCGCATGTCTGTTT-3’(forward);
5’-AGCATATTTATAGAAAACTAGCATGAAGTA-3’(reverse).
