The Parkinson’s Disease Sleep Scale (PDSS) will be used to measure the severity of sleep disturbances (Trenkwalder et al., 2011); Parkinson Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39) will be used to assess PD-specific health quality over the previous month (Jenkinson et al., 1997); Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT) will be used to evaluate mobility and motor ability (Zampieri et al., 2010); Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale Part III (UPDRS-III) will be used to measure motor symptoms (Haaxma et al., 2008); Hamilton Depression Scale [HAMD] (Bech et al., 1981) and Hamilton Anxiety Scale[HAMA] (Shear et al., 2010) will be used to evaluate depression and anxiety in both PD patients and HC (see Supplementary Table 1).
