MTT assay was used to determine the anti-proliferative ability of respective plant formulations post treatment against cancer cell lines. Cancer cells were seeded (10 × 103 cells per well) in triplicates in 96-well plates overnight and were treated with 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 µg/ml of plant extracts for a time interval of 24, 48, and 72 h. After respective time points, 20 µl MTT (5 mg/ml) was added to each well followed by incubation for 3 h. The medium of well was then replaced by 100 µl DMSO to dissolve formazan crystals. The optical density of each well was recorded at 570 nm by microplate reader (SPARKTM 10 M, TECAN, Switzerland). Cell viability was measured using the equation;
