The SW620 and Caco-2 cells were transfected for 24 h, then plated in 12-well plates at a concentration of 2 × 105 ml-1. When the cells reached 90% confluence, the wound was uniformly scratched using sterile pipette tips. Thereafter, the movement of cells into a scraped wound was measured to assess cell motility. In addition, the distance of the wound from 0 h was measured to monitor the speed of wound closure after 72 h with an observational interval of 6 h. Each assay was performed in triplicate.
