1 h after RFA, the selected swine liver was sliced through the maximum section of the ablated zone. Gross images of the tissue were acquired by using a digital camera, and the volume of the ablation zone was calculated using the same formula as above. All gross tissue samples were sent for histopathological examination with haematoxylin–eosin (H–E) staining.
