Statistical analyses were performed with SPSS package version 20.0 (SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA). Minor allele frequencies (MAFs) in controls were checked for departure from Hardy–Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) in controls. The associations between SNPs and HNC risk were evaluated using SNPstats (https://www.snpstats.net/start.htm) and are expressed as odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Statistical significance was established when p < 0.05.
