Data cleaning and analyses were performed with IBM SPSS version 22. Responses from the eligibility survey were merged with those from the baseline assessment. Descriptive statistics were computed for all variables. Bivariate and multivariable logistic regression analyses were conducted to examine associations with sleep quality and use of sleep medications. Predictor variables included participant and socioeconomic characteristics, indicators of HIV care, symptoms of anxiety and depression, resilience, and substance use. Odds ratios (adjusted for multivariable) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) are reported for logistic regression analyses. Pearson correlations were conducted to examine relationships between psychological distress variables and resilience. We then tested to see whether resilience moderated the relationship between psychological distress and perceived sleep quality using interaction terms [anxiety symptoms x resilience; depressive symptoms x resilience], entered as separate (and independent) steps in the multivariable logistic regression model.
