The wound healing scratch assay was used to compare the migratory capabilities of the different cell lines. Briefly, different groups of cells were seeded into triplicate wells of six-well plates (2 × 106/well) in complete culture medium and cultured until confluent. Then, an artificial scratch wound was drawn at the center of each well and the culture medium was replaced with fresh culture medium supplemented with 2% serum. Photographs of the same locations were recorded at 0, 24, 48, and 72 h. The extent of cell migration was evaluated with Image J software.
