To assess the molar concentration of the herbal extracts expressed as µM of gallic acid equivalent (GAE), 13 µL of each extract previously diluted 145 times was mixed for 20 s with 100 µL of Milli-Q water and 13 µL of Folin–Ciocalteu’s reagent in a well plate. After 5 min, 13 µL of a saturated sodium carbonate solution was manually added to each well, and absorbance was recorded at 765 nm after 2 h reaction. The GAEs were calculated through a gallic acid calibration curve (R2 = 0.9995), and every sample was measured in triplicate.
