It is a 20-item scale [23] that is scored based on a seven-point Likert scale, with 1 = do not agree at all and 7 = strongly agree. Higher scores indicate higher nomophobia. The total score yielded four categories of participants that had no nomophobia (scores of 20), mild nomophobia (scores between 21 and 59), moderate nomophobia (scores between 60 and 99) and severe nomophobia (scores between 100 and 140). The pre-existing Arabic version of the scale was used in this study [24]. The Cronbach’s alpha for this scale was excellent (α = 0.948).
