From Bench to Breakthrough: Cutting-Edge Tools for Cell Biology

A collaboration between Bio-protocol and ASCB

Register for updates

Bio-protocol is excited to announce a new webinar partnership with the American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB), a collaboration designed to bring cutting-edge cell biology methods directly to our community. This collaboration combines Bio-protocol's mission to improve research reproducibility with ASCB’s commitment to advancing the study of cells. Collaborative webinars will be featured regularly as part of the monthly Bio-protocol Webinar Series.

What to expect from each session

The webinars will feature in-depth presentations from scientists who have developed and refined impactful experimental methods. Each session will include:

  • A 30–40 min step-by-step presentation covering the background, development, and applications of a specific method.
  • Live Q&A with the method’s developers, offering a rare opportunity for direct discussion and troubleshooting.
  • On-demand access to recordings through a webinar archive for continued learning.

Why this partnership matters to our community

This collaboration deepens our commitment to you by:

  • Bringing you leading experts in cell biology, leveraging the extensive network of ASCB.
  • Providing direct access to rigorously developed methods from leaders in the field.
  • Supporting reproducibility and transparency through open discussions.
  • Creating a new space for our community to engage with innovators beyond publications.

Get involved

We invite you to take part in this collaboration:

  • Get notified about upcoming webinars.
  • Submit questions in advance for webinar presenters.
  • Attend live or watch sessions on demand.
  • Propose topics you’d like to see covered in future webinars.

Whether you are refining a technique or exploring a new experimental approach, this series is designed to help move your research forward.

About ASCB

About Bio-protocol

Bio-protocol is a free-access resource and community platform dedicated to improving research reproducibility. Founded in 2011 by researchers at Stanford University, Bio-protocol began with its flagship open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes detailed, step-by-step protocols. Today, the platform includes a preprint repository, educational webinars, and an interactive methods database. By fostering direct communication, we enable researchers worldwide to discover, share, and discuss the protocols that accelerate scientific breakthroughs. Learn more at bio-protocol.org.
