Study design

This study tested the hypothesis that T_regs were required for integrin αvβ8–mediated tumor growth promotion using cell-based assays, in vivo tumor models, and correlative human studies. In vivo models used randomization and blinding maintained until end points were reached and data analysis was completed. Sample sizes for in vitro and in vivo experiments were estimated using power calculations with predetermined effect sizes and variances based on experience.
