Mouse J774 macrophages were obtained from the American Type Culture Collection (ATCC, Manassas, VA, USA) and cultured in Dulbecco Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) (ATCC) supplemented with 10% heat-inactivated fetal bovine serum (FBS) (Gibco, Grand Island, NY, USA) and 1 μg/mL antibiotic and antimycotic (Gibco) complete medium [40]. Cells were maintained at 37°C in a humidified incubator containing 5% CO2 for various time-periods, depending on the experimental procedure.
