Before materializing the microfluidic designs, they were calculated for their flow resistance using COMSOL Multiphysics Modeling Software. The Stokes equation, a condition that corresponds to a Newtonian fluid at low Reynolds numbers, was applied in order to simulate the flow rates of these microfluidic designs at a constant applied pressure of 10 kPa (Fig. 1c, see also Supplementary Fig. S2).
