CD measurements were carried out using a Jasco-600 spectropolarimeter equipped with a Neslab RTE-100 computer-operated temperature control unit. Purified MVM VLP preparations at a protein (monomer) concentration of 2.6 μM in phosphate-buffered saline were used. Thermal experiments were carried out using the temperature scan mode and measuring the ellipticity in the far-ultraviolet range at 215 nm. A temperature scan rate of 20°C/h, a response time of 2 s, and a band width of 1 nm were used. Temperature was monitored by a thermocouple in the cuvette holder block.
