All patients were examined using a PET-CT scanner (PET-CT-16 slice, Discovery STE; GE Medical System, Milwaukee, WI, USA) approximately 60 minutes after the administration of 370 MBq of 18F-FDG; they were required to fast for at least 4 hours before the scan. This procedure provided the standardized uptake value (SUV) of FDG; the maximum SUV (SUVmax) was confirmed by 2 nuclear medicine physicians.
