Biotinylated miR-27a (B-miR-27a, synthesized by RiboBio) was transfected into VSMCs using LipofectamineTM 2000 (Invitrogen) at a concentration of 30 nmol/L, and the culture media was exchanged 6–8 h after transfection to remove the free B-miR-27a. The culture media was collected 24 h later, and the VSMC-MPs were isolated to treat ECs. Staining of B-miR-27a in ECs and VSMCs was performed using rhodamine-labeled streptavidin (KPL).
