Preparation of the rhizosphere soil extract (Lin et al., 2022): air-dried rhizosphere soil was sieved through a 20-mesh sieve, and 100 g was weighed into a 500 mL beaker, distilled water was added to the total volume of 400 mL, and solution was sonicated for 1 h and left overnight; then, the extract was filtered through a filter paper.
