Thirty to 40 mg of frozen liver were homogenized in 500 μL of radioimmunoprecipitation assay lysis buffer (Sigma-Aldrich) with 1× protease and phosphatase inhibitors (Roche, Basel, Switzerland), and 10 μg of sample/well were assayed in triplicate using the Infinity triglyceride (TG) assay kit (Thermo Fisher Scientific). Absorbance was measured at 540 nm using a FLUOstar Omega (BMG LabTech, Ortenberg, Germany) plate reader. The TG concentrations were calculated using a standard curve and normalized to tissue weight.
