The PIIS front in 2009 and 2014 was manually digitised from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) Antarctic ice shelf image38 obtained on 30 January 2009 and 5 February 2014, respectively. The coastlines on 2 February and 8 March 2020 were also manually digitised based on sentinel-1 synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) images obtained on the same dates.
