Isolation of primary mouse HSCs

Primary HSCs were isolated from female BALB/c wild type mice by pronase/collagenase digestion followed by density gradient centrifugation and were cultured on plastic dishes in DMEM, supplemented with 4 mM L-glutamine, 10% FBS, and penicillin (100 IU/ml)/streptomycin (100 μg/ml) as described in [63].
