For the gravity model parameters pstay and γ, we chose uninformative uniform priors to allow population movement to be informed by the epidemiological data. Since pstay is a probability, the prior was a uniform distribution on the interval [0, 1]. γ was allowed to vary between 1 and 2 in the results presented in the main text. We performed a sensitivity analysis where γ has a uniform prior between 1 and 10. The results of this analysis are presented in the Supplementary Section 8.
