NPC cell lines, C666-1 and HK-1, were kindly provided by Professor Chan Soh Ha (NUS Immunology Center) and were maintained in RPM1 1640 (Gibco, USA) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) in the presence of penicillin (100 IU/mL) and streptomycin (100 μg/mL) at 37 °C under a humidified atmosphere of 95% air and 5% CO2. C666-1 is an undifferentiated NPC cell line which stably maintains the EBV episomes while HK-1 is a well-differentiated, EBV-negative NPC cell line.

DLD-1 and HCT116 colorectal carcinoma cell lines, and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell line were obtained from ATCC and maintained in DMEM containing 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) with penicillin (100 IU/mL) and streptomycin (100 μg/mL) at 37 °C under a humidified atmosphere of 95% air and 5% CO2.
