The target genes of miR-375 were explored using an online database: TargetScan [27]. TargetScan is a database for predicting miRNA target genes, which mainly searches for conserved 8 mer and 7 mer sites matching each miRNA seed region to predict target genes. One mRNA was considered to be a possible miR-375 target if the interaction was supported in TargetScan. In order to ensure the accuracy of the results, we also use the online database starBase [28] to verify the results and take the intersection of the target genes obtained from the two databases as the final target genes of miR-375.
