2.7. Effect of Diannexin on Pathological Lung Injury

A part of the right lung tissue was fixed in paraformaldehyde and embedded in paraffin and then cut into 4 μm sections to investigate the effect of diannexin on ARDS-induced histology. Hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining was performed on the sections. The extent of pathological lung injury was evaluated by an independent pathologist blinded to the study. Pathology was determined using a previously described scoring system [21]. The following formula was used to calculate the score: score = [(20 × A) + (14 × B) + (7 × C) + (2 × E)]/(number of fields × 100).
