The HWE for control subjects of each studies was evaluated by conducting a chi-square test, and P < .05 was seen as significant disequilibrium. Odds ratios (ORs) and the 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were calculated to evaluate the association between IL-8-251 A/T polymorphism and the risk or mortality of sepsis.
