Statistical analyses were performed using GraphPad Prism (GraphPad Software) or MATLAB (MathWorks). The details of tests used are described with the results. Differences between the groups were tested using paired and unpaired t-tests. Group comparisons were made using one-way ANOVA followed by Bonferroni post-hoc tests to control for multiple comparisons. All statistical tests were two-tailed, and thresholds for significance were placed at *p<0.05, **p<0.01, and ***p<0.001. All data are shown as mean ± standard errors. No statistical methods were used to pre-determine sample size, but the number of mice and cells for each experiment is similar with previous studies in the field (Doan et al., 2019; Nilssen et al., 2018). Mice were randomly selected from both sexes, and all experiments were successfully replicated in several samples. No blinding was used during data acquisition, but electrophysiological data analyses were performed blind to groups.
