Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China) This kit utilizes cartridges that are equipped with multiple hydrophobic separation layers to isolate the lysate, the cleaning solution and the reaction solution in the cartridge. Briefly, following thorough vortexing, 1000 μL of the magnetic bead solution and 500 μL of the sample (from either viral transport medium or sputum) is pipetted into the cartridge. Thus, the assay requires minimal hands-on time. The reaction time is 79 min, and the instrument is capable of running 2 separate samples at the same time. The kit uses Crossing Priming Amplification (CPA) (Xu et al., 2012) to detect the ORF1ab and the N gene sequences of the SARS-CoV-2.
