The obtained data were used to calculate the frequency of each LC structural feature in the published literature and to determine the mean values of the most frequently reported features. Statistical relevance, given by the p value, was also taken as a complement for study results and to comprehend the relation and differences found between study groups. To average the data for each LC parameter, pooled mean and pooled SD were determined according to equations (1) and (2), respectively, where N represents the number of eyes included in the study, M the mean value, SD the standard deviation, and n the number of studies analyzed:
