Statistical tests were chosen based on accepted standards. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to test for normality. Parametric (Student t test, analysis of variance [ANOVA]) and nonparametric (Mann-Whitney test) statistical methods were used when appropriate. Statistical significance was assigned when p values were <0.05 using Prism Version 8 (GraphPad, San Diego, California). Specific tests are indicated in the figure legends. Mean values and median values are displayed for parametric tests and nonparametric tests, respectively.
