Following fixation with 4% phosphate-buffered formalin for 24 h, the lung tissues from Mtb-infected mice were embedded in paraffin wax and were cut into serial sections of 2-3 μm thickness. The infiltration of immune cells into the lungs was detected by haematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining.
