One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) or Kruskall–Wallis tests for continuous variables (depending on normality according to Kolmogorov–Smirnov test) and the chi-square tests for categorical variables were used for comparisons across the three groups. Post-hoc comparisons were performed with Bonferroni correction in case of a significant between-group difference. In addition, comparisons between two groups were performed using the t-test for continuous variables. All statistical analyses were performed using R 3.6.2 (http://www.r-project.org), and statistical significance was set at a p-value < 0.05 [27].
