Using logistic regression, the ORs were estimated for the associations of pre-illness and current level of PA, respectively, with work status at twelve months. Those who died during follow-up were categorized as “not working” at twelve months. In model 1, unadjusted analyses were conducted. In model 2, the following sociodemographic variables were adjusted for: gender, age, educational level, and baseline work status. In model 3, the following illness- and treatment-related variable was added: treatment intention. In model 4, performance status was further added. Baseline work status was added as a covariate in this model as previous research have shown that previous sick leave is negatively associated with work status [63]. The categorical covariates were dichotomized as described above.
