Lentiviruses were made by Lipofectamine 2000 (Life Technologies, no. 13778150)–based cotransfection of human embryonic kidney (HEK) 293T cells with the lentiviral expression vector and the packaging vectors psPAX2 (Addgene, no. 12260) and pMD2.G (Addgene, no. 12259) in a 4:3:1 ratio. Supernatant was replaced after 24 hours, and virus-containing supernatant was collected after 48 and 72 hours. Virus-containing supernatant was then pooled, purified using a 45-μm filter, and frozen at −80°C in 500-μl aliquots.
