Testes and ovaries from more than three mice for each genotype were dissected immediately after euthanasia, fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde (P1110, Solarbio, Beijing, China) for up to 24 hours, stored in 70% ethanol, and embedded in paraffin after dehydration. Sections (5 μm) were prepared and mounted on glass slides. After deparaffinization, slides were stained with hematoxylin and eosin for histological analysis.
