The 2-NBDG was purchased from Cayman Chemical (Ann Arbor, MI). Ten thousand cells were seeded in black 96-well flat plates. Media were replaced to glucose-free media the next day, and cells were cultured for 20 hours. The 2-NBDG (50 μg/ml) was added for 7 hours and immediately subjected to glucose uptake assay using excitation and emission wavelengths of 485 and 535 nm.
