Coin-type cells (2032) were fabricated inside an Ar-filled glove box using a Celgard 2250 separator. A Si-Ge alloy electrode and Li metal foil were prepared as two electrodes. The electrolyte used was 1.0 M LiPF6 in 1:1 v/v ethylene carbonate/diethyl carbonate with 2 weight % vinylene carbonate (Guotai Huarong) added to improve the cycling stability. The electrochemical tests were performed using a LANHE CT2001A for cycling performance and electrochemical workstation for typical CV. If without special instructions, then the rate used for cycling test was 0.1 C.
