To reduce experimental variation in glycan measurements, before genetic studies, raw glycan data were total area normalized and batch corrected using the “ComBat” function of “sva” (37) R package centrally by the phenotype provider (Genos Ltd. for UPLC cohorts and Leiden University Medical Center for the Leiden Longevity Study). More detailed information on glycan preprocessing can be found in the Supplementary Note.
