HEK293 cells were cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM; Gibco) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA), 1× Hepes (Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA), and 1% antibiotics (Thermo Fisher Scientific, MA) (complete DMEM). Cells were passaged with 0.05% trypsin/EDTA at a subcultivation ratio of 1:5 at 80 to 90% confluence and incubated in a humidified atmosphere at 37°C and 5% CO2.
