E. coli MG1655 cells and CobB KO E. coli MG1655 cells were obtained from Tolo Biotech. E. coli BL21 (DE3) was from TIANGEN. P. mirabilis strain ATCC29906 was provided by A. Rozalski and A. Palusiak from the University of Lodz. All the anti-acyllysine antibodies were purchased from PTM Biolabs Inc. All the synthetic peptides were generated by SciLight Biotechnology, LLC. Other reagents are listed in table S6.
