Highly purified ADDomer sample was stored in PBS at room temperature. Thermal shift experiments were performed at an ADDomer concentration of 3 mg/ml in PBS, using a ThermoFluor assay (28). ADDomer sample was diluted to 1 mg/ml and aliquoted. Identical sample aliquots were stored for several weeks at room temperature, frozen at −20°C overnight followed by thawing, and incubated at 45°C for 1 hour, respectively. Sample integrity was assessed at each intervention by negative-stain EM (fig. S5).
