The fluorescence probe 2′,7′-dichlorofluorescin diacetate (DCFDA) (Abcam) was used to measure intracellular ROS following the manufacturer’s instructions. Briefly, 2 × 104 cells were seeded in a clear-bottom 96-well plate. After treatment, cells were washed with Hanks’ balanced salt solution, followed by incubation with DCFDA (25 μM)–containing HBSS for 30 min at 37°C in the dark. Cells were washed, and green fluorescence was measured with a Synergy HT microplate reader (BioTek) at 485/535 nm.
