All currently employed STEM faculty (including adjuncts, lecturers, postdocs, and graduate students) who had taught at least one course at the university were recruited by email invitation. Emails were obtained from university records. In total, 483 STEM faculty were contacted, and 197 provided usable data (40.8%). We excluded 45 faculty who had not taught at least one undergraduate course within the previous 2 years and 2 faculty who did not answer the two mindset beliefs questions. The final sample included 150 faculty across 13 STEM departments: Astronomy, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Economics, Geological Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics.
